Billet Production: The first stage of producing quality steel bars is to ensure that high quality billets are produced from the scrap metals and direct reduced iron (DRI).
Rolling Mill: The steel billets are then heated at a temperature of about 1200 degree Celsius to make them easy to mould. The heated billets are then passed through a series of rollers to form the bars of desired diameter and shape.
Quenching: Once the rods are formed, they are put through a rapid cooling process using water. This process causes the outer layer to harden while the inner core remains soft and ductile.
Self-Tempering: After the quenching process, the bars are left to cool down naturally. This allows the relieving of internal stress, enhancing the strength and ductility.
Final processing: On completely cooling down, the bars are cut to the required length and put through thorough quality check. This ensures that the bars stand up to the standards of strength, ductility, and other critical properties.
